Skilled NBA 2K18 players are expected to sign up for the NBA 2K League

In the second month of 2017 it was revealed that the NBA and Take Two Interactive, the company that publishes NBA 2K18, have entered a partnership to create a new e-sports league. This never seen before kind of deal will bring together professional e-sports players and real basketball teams. It was recently announced that the first season of the new league will start in May 2018.

When the e-league was announced, NBA 2K17 was the game of the moment and, as it was correctly speculated by most people, the matches of the new league will be played with the new NBA 2K18 title. With the announcement that the first season starts in Spring 2018, the speculation becomes a reality. NBA 2K18 was just released so all players have the chance to practice, to become skilled, and to take a shot at being part of the first season of the NBA 2K League.

So far, 17 NBA teams have consented to join the e-league. A few more are willing to take part starting with season two. NBA 2K officials are confident that, with time, all 30 NBA teams will be represented in the e-league. Each NBA team chooses a team of five players that will become its representatives. The tryouts are expected to start in February 2018. A month later, the draft will occur and this is when the e-league team composition will be decided. The selected players will have contracts.
